Continuing Education Company, Inc. (CEC) is an independent, non-profit, 501 (c)(3) continuing medical education organization that has been developing and presenting CME events for more than 30 years. CEC’s mission is to develop and provide educational opportunities to improve the skills and knowledge of medical and healthcare professionals.
Continuing Education Company’s Curriculum
Continuing Education Company’s accredited curriculum, which has been honed and trusted by medical professionals for more than 30 years, is developed with the guidance of Continuing Education Company’s Curriculum Advisory Committee.
This committee is composed of Continuing Education Company’s on-staff Medical Director and a group of physicians, pharmacists, and medical educators, each with extensive clinical and CME experience and expertise. Continuing Education Company’s CME content provides knowledge to fill gaps in healthcare professionals’ expertise.
Accreditation
All of the Continuing Education Company’s live conferences and CME events offer Prescribed credits approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Continuing Education Company, Inc. (CEC) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
In addition to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, we offer Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. All of our online courses provide AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Please see our accreditation page for each conference or course for information on other allied health professionals.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Continuing Education Company (CEC) CME program is to facilitate and encourage the process of lifelong learning and to promote continuous improvement in patient health care. The content of the CME program includes a broad range of activities designed for primary care and specialist education. Continuing Education Company provides education to a national audience of primary care clinicians.
CME content is designed to address professional practice gaps of family physicians, internal medicine physicians, osteopathic physicians, general practitioners, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Special attention is given to the unique needs of clinicians working in remote and rural parts of the United States. Educational activities are provided in a variety of formats including live courses and conferences, internet-based enduring materials, jointly sponsored activities in collaboration with outside organizations of recognized merit.
Continuing Education Company fosters the continuing professional development of physicians and advanced practice clinicians through educational activities that will enhance their medical knowledge, develop their skills (competence), improve their performance in practice, and ultimately, improve patient outcomes.
